Fluid handled by industries contains various particles due to atmospheric contamination, in process contamination, during handling or transpotion it may be contaminated. These particles are in varied sizes and shapes and may damage or harm the equipments such as heat exchangers, burners, chilling plants, carburetors, coolers, pumps, seals, valves etc. Also, some products may need final removal of particles to enhance value; to improve further process or to achieve required clarity.

“ Y “ types of strainers are named after their shape and normally used for course filtration. But with large filtration area can be used with fine mesh also.Addcon “Y” strainers are available with 3 to 4 times larger filtration area than pipe size and suitable to install in either a horizontal or vertical position. Advanced dynamic flow path and large filtration area elements ensure low pressure drops and reduced maintenance periods.

Fabricated Addcon make Y type strainer can be offered for any special size or dimensions as per users’ requirements in all ferrous metals.

During both direction installations, the screening element must be on the “down side” of the strainer body, so the entrapped material can properly collect in it. “Y” strainer also available with drain Plug which can be replaced with Ball valve of Gate or Plug Valve for frequent blow off.

Addcon make strainers are available with wide range of sizes as well as filter varieties. Different types of perforate filter elements can be provided from 4 mesh to 500 mesh.
